Geemarc Customer Case Study – CL7400
Douglas M. from Cheshire is over 70 years old and has been hard of hearing for just over 10 years. Like many people, his ability to hear has progressively worsened over time to the point that he now has 80% hearing loss.
Watching TV, which should be a relaxing entertainment, was becoming less and less enjoyable. Although Douglas had been using an assistive listening device (ALD) to help him hear the television, it was not a comfortable fit and he found himself not bothering to use it as often as he wanted to.
“Watching television had started to become an unpleasant experience. The ALD’s ear pieces were not comfy to wear for long periods and I found it got in the way, hanging around my neck. Also, its wires trailed across the lounge floor, which was a trip hazard and all this meant that I didn’t use it that often,” said Douglas.
Instead, Douglas would watch TV with the volume turned up to full volume so that he could hear it. “This was not nice for my wife,” he says ruefully. “I can only imagine what she was saying!”
All this changed for the better when Douglas tried the new CL7400 wireless TV listener headset from Geemarc.
“Since I have been using the Geemarc CL7400, my television experience has come to life!” says Douglas. “The headset is extremely comfortable to wear with large ear pads and a cushion fit. I prefer the over-the-head design to having it round my neck. Watching television has become easy and comfortable and because its wireless, there is no worry about tripping over.”
Douglas’s grandson set the CL7400 up for him with the volume and tone at a comfortable level for each ear. It is simple to set-up and only took him couple of minutes.
“My grandson explained how it works and now all I have to do is turn on the television and my headset and I’m ready to go. I’ve been told it looks very stylish but to me it’s all about the features. My top three are the design, the comfy fit and the fact that its wireless. I would definitely recommend it to others with hearing loss,” says Douglas.
